Maria Teresa has spent her career studying and specialising in racism, discrimination and intercultural communication within sociocultural and commercial settings. She is originally from Ecuador, where she took her bachelor’s degree in Political and Social Science. Throughout her career she has run programmes in intercultural communication for locals and expatriates from the countries of Latin America and many other regions of the world.
Maria has lived in Costa Rica for twenty-five years and earlier in Sweden for thirteen. Living outside her native culture has given her a deep understanding and knowledge about the diversities and social norms in those countries. Working as an independent consultant with several international organisations she has successfully shared her expertise with expats in Costa Rica and with locals who are aiming to do business abroad.
